since 1811 (NaamsAanneming) he is recorded under his new first name Abraham and new surname Bloemhoff. Though later his old first name Meijer was stated again in several instances — and Bloemhof was spelled in many variations (Blomhof etc). [NB: It is rather unusual to choose a surname differing from his (supposed) oldest brother’s, Jonas Samuel Goudsmit [cf] — Since Long times in several publications Meijer/Abraham is considered and mentioned as a brother of Jonas, Jacob and Rebecca, but recently arguments have risen that he is not, e.g: (1) as it seems nowhere is found the Segal or (Ha)Levi addition in the registrations and mentions or on the tombs of his descendants — (2) if being no brother of the nearby living Jonas it would be normal that in 1811 they did assume differing surnames — (3) in his death act his birthplace is mentioned, but the names of his parents are left open, while of his supposed brother Jonas the parents are mentioned — (4) to be researched and worked out in due time — ……]
