In his death act his parents are unknown. To be checked further.
[NB: He is variously stated as Benjamin (Simon) or Simon, as his wife is variously stated as Betje or Elisabeth, Hartog or Hartogs (and once as Rachel Hartog). There are many indications that he as well as she are the same persons. But one series of inconsistent data has to be checked further: Where is the birth act of Sara Polak daughter of Benjamin Simons Polak and Rachel Hartog who died 7.8.1822 in Middelharnis, age 1 year; and how can this be in line with the birth 20.2 1821 in Sommelsdijk of Saartje Polak daughter of Simon Polak & Betje Hartog(s), who stayed on living and marrying till she died 20.12.1857 in Middelharnis, age 37 years. Though in some acts she is stated as Grietje Polak, e.g. mother of Benjamin Simon de Winter, born 2.5.1857 in Middelharnis, while it looks like this Grietje is also the mother of Mozes Levi Polak, born 30.11.1841 in Sommelsdijk, father unknown. -- These riddles may be solved by consulting the original acts of all the children; maybe there are house numbers etc mentioned]
