Notes for Barend b’ Jacob de Boot (de Boodt Boot)
[NB: explicitly mentioned in his Military Certificate: son of Jacob Barend (d 4.7.1802 Rotterdam) & Aaltje Philip (d 8.1.1801 Rotterdam)]
[NB: interesting Attachments to his marriage act: “......In his Military Certificate he is named Barend Jacob de Boodt, where the name de Boodt is arbitrarily assumed by himself, without being mentioned in the Register of assumed names of the Israelites, to whom he belongs”. -- amongst the witnesses are three cousins of his mother’s side: Eliazar Joseph Frieser, Abraham Jacob Schaap, Isaak Isaak de Bok -- the first two are grandsons of Eliazar Frieser (de Vries) and the last one is son of Johanna Jacob Barend, who as widow in 1811 did assume the surname “Boot”]
