[NB: acc to his Grandson Henry he would have been born in Rotterdam, but his birth act isn’t found there]
20.5.1906 arriving in USA, on ship The Amerika from Dover: Adolf Gaudschmidt (43), Mrs Adolf (33) wih children: Max (18), Henry (17), Janette (13), Alfonse (23m); artists, nationality Dutch; last residence London; joining Hippodrome NY City;

Quoting the IMDB website: ‘The Gaudsmith Brothers were vaudevillians Max and Henry Gaudsmith, who did a poodle act. They were born in The Netherlands and migrated to the USA in the first part of the twentieth century. Max was born circa 1880, date of death not known. Henry was born 20 November 1880 and died in Florida 24 October 1980” -- NB: these given birth years (both 1880) seem improbable, as the Gaudsmith Brothers were still performing on Television in 1961 (in the Perry Como Show). Through further research and data from the Celtic ship-manifest their real birthdata could be deduced]
