Notes for Liwa/ Leib/ Juda-Löb b’ NN Oppenheim Worms
Chaver — also known as ‘Rabbi Judel’
[NB: in ET his parents are not mentioned]
1552 writer of a ‘calender book’
[he must not be confused with his namesake and contemporary, the in 1537 converted Leib b’ Maier Oppenheim Worms (d. 1574), who also had been living in the house “Hirsch” [cf ET] — In many genealogies [f.e: Wikipedia] the two Leib’s are stated as brothers, which seems quite unusual; in fact only explicable if one of the two is Maier’s stepson who coming as a young child in the family got the name Oppenheim — JG]
1563/64 his activities are mentioned in the “Wormser grüner Buch”
1573 on the tombstone of his son Anshel mentioned as deceased [cf Epidat]
Houses: “Riese” in Worms and “Hirsch” in Frankfurt
