Notes for Fogel/ Vogel b’ Nathan Bonn
[NB: inconsistency in several sources about who is her father: Nosen b’ Aron or (his brother’s son) Nosen b’ Shlomo? — The data in Ele Toldot Records are conflicting: on Fogel’s Record (d. 1674) Nosen b’ Aron is mentioned as her father, while on the Record of Nosen b’ Shlomo (d. 1655) the same Fogel is mentioned as his daughter. This is physically impossible since Shlomo’s first marriage was not earlier than 1606 (cf ET) and his granddaughter Fogel’s marriage was in 1624. So there are only 18 years in between. Even supposing that Shlomo’s son Nosen was born in 1606 and became at age 13 father of daughter Fogel, who then herself married at age 13 in 1624, the minimal interim should be 26 years. So in this present stage of research I conclude for Nosen b’ Aron as Fogel’s father — this is also contrary to Epidat, but other options are less likely, e.g: if Shlomo had his son Nosen from an earlier (so far unknown) marriage, he must have been born much earlier while he died (in 1662) at an age of ca 90 years, and is nowhere registeered as ‘alte’) — JG]
