he is a son of Kopp v Gelnhausen sg”l (d. ca 1555 in Gelnhausen) & NN
[cf ET: summary of his father’s heirs in Gw.1556-13.IV ®27] — amongst Kopp’s 8 children are two daughters: Gutlin/Gutta b’ Kopp Gelnhausen (d. abt 1599) and Mindle/Mündlin b’ Kopp Gelnhausen (d. abt 1555) They were married to Moshe b’ Jossel and Gotshalk b’ Jossel z schwarzen Ring, both brothers of Blume b’ Jossel z Einhorn (d. 1560) the second wife of Isaak Aschaffenburg Goldschmidt (d. 1559) — Thus Shmul b’ Kopp Gelnhausen is via his sisters a brother-in-law of Blume and Isaak and thus a (step-)uncle of the brothers Moyse Petershagen and Simon Aschaffenburg [cf ®48]
