Notes for Elchanan/Henchen b’ Moshe Bacharach z Knoblauch
dayan — ‘Jakow Elchanan’ [sacral name]
House “Knoblauch” — during and after the ‘Fettmilch-Expulsion’ he stayed in Hanau with his son Menachem. After his death his wife returned to Frankfurt and lived in the House “roter Schild”.
[NB: he must not be mistaken for his namsake Henchen/Elchanan b’ Isak Bacharach z roten Schild [cf], who also had left due to the ‘Fettmilch-Expulsion’, but was not mentioned any more in the Frankfurt listings and burial register, so may have died abt 1615 during exile — cf ET]
he had at least 3 children [cf ET and Epidat]
