Notes for Ester b’ Isaak Oppenheim(er)
Strange Error in ET: in her Entry/Record-sheet she is mentioned as the daughter of
the late ‘Itsek b’ Nathan Oppenheim
z”l mi Wien’. —
while she had died earlier than him
The confusion must be caused by the fact that there are two Oppenheimers named Isaak/Itsek b’ Nathan [mi-Wien]:
(a) the famous Court-factor (who died 17.10.1739!) grandson of Daniel-Jechiel b’ Moshe Oppenheim and
(b) the less known grandson of the famous Court-Factor Samuel b’ Wolf Oppenheim. The precise death date of this other Isaak is not found so far, but might be before 1739 (?)
It’s plausible that Ester is a daughter of (b), more so because in the enumeration of the 14 children of (a), there is no ‘Ester’ mentioned. [cf ®33, p 260] — [see also my annotations in the Record-sheet of the the other Isaak b’ Nathan (a) — JG]
