Notes for Ester b’ Isaak Oppenheim(er)
Strange Error in ET: her record-sheet mentions
exactly the same death date (18.7.1739) for her and for her father,
the late ‘Itsek b’ Nathan Oppenheim
z”l mi Wien’. This in itself is hardly possible.
The confusion must be caused by the fact that there are two Oppenheimers named Isaak/Itsek b’ Nathan [mi-Wien]: (a) the famous Court-factor (who died 17.10.1739!) grandson of Daniel-Jechiel b’ Moshe Oppenheim and (b’) the less known grandson of the famous Court-Factor Samuel b’ Wolf Oppenheim. The precise death date of this other Isaak is not found so far, but in some sources stated as [before or ca] 1740. It’s plausible that Ester is a daughter of (b’), more so because in the enumeration of the 14 children of (a), there is no ‘Ester’ mentioned.
