Notes for Shimon b’ Zalman Sinzheim segal z Pelikan
“ha-manoach Shimon b’ ha-manoach Zalman Tsintshaim m Win” [mentioned in sk.551=110]
NB — Errors in Ele Toldot (ET) and serious confusion, caused by the situation that there was another Shimon Sinzheim, who died in the same year (1784) also in Wien (Vienna) — resulting in a complicated entanglement of data about their patronyms, ages and marriages and the two sons who are both named Isaac/Aizek.
(a) Simon b’ Salomon died on 13 april 1784 at age 45, while his uncle (b’) Simon b’ Isaac died on 20 october 1784 at an age at least 10 years older — ET has only one Record-sheet for a Simon, though indicating in a ‘Bemerkung’ the inconsistency of his 3rd and 4th marriage in the same period.
This Shimon died at age 45 (Sterbebuch Wien) [source: “Das Blog des Österreichischen Jüdischen Museums”]
House “Pelikan”, later living in Wien (Vienna)
[earlier NB: his spouse Gutle b’ Zussel Kulp (d. 7.11.1790) is mentioned in different Record-sheets with conflicting facts: connected to her are two sons both named Aizek Sinzheim: (a) born in 1750, ‘impossible’ son of Shimon and (b’) born in 1757, ‘impossible’ son of Zalman. Conclusion is that there must be a second Shimon and also a 2nd Zalman, unknown in ET and/or there are mistaken patronyms in ET] Most inconsistencies are solved in further research —
