Notes for Faibesh/ Fais b’ Moshe Rothschild (Bacharach) z weissen Hirsch
“……der alte Faibesh r”sh……” [r”sh = abbrevation for ‘roten Schild’ or ‘Rothschild’]
House “weisser Hirsch”
2 children [cf ET]:
# Akiwa b’ Faibesh Rothschild (d. 1.2.1674, as a young boy)
# Fraidlen b’ Faibesh Rothschild (d. 30.9.1681;-), married to Moshe b’ Aron [b’ Maier] Leiter z Kamel (d. 1.1.1702;-) [she was his first spouse — He was married three times — 6 children in total — cf ET]
[NB (a) — Error in ET: confusion about his (first) spouse: ‘die alte’ Sheinle b’ Akiwa Kallstadt-Brak k”ts (d. 24.9.1689), who was incorrectly linked to his much younger namesake Faibesh Rothschild b’ Moshe (Bacharach) z goldenen Zange (d. 6.8.1709) — cf]
I have corrected this error [JG]
[NB (b’) By consequence of (a) both his children are from Sheinle b’ Akiwa, instead of (his in ET supposed spouse:) Edel b’ Maier Kulp-Wetzlar. For that matter it seems improbable that he has been married (second) at all to Edel, because he died less than 7 months after Sheinle, still being in the usual mourning period. Thus it is quite plausible that also Edel is linked to the wrong husband and that she is the (first?) spouse of the other Faibesh]
I have removed Edel and coupled her instead to Faibesh b’ Moshe z goldenen Zange [JG]
