Notes for Leizer/ Elazer- Hirsh b’ Michel Speyer z silbernen Krone
‘ha-morenu Eliezer Tswvi Hirsh b’ Michel Shpaier….starb jung’ [Ho]
‘….Elazar Hirsh…buried near his sister Jachet….’ (sk 549=34)
[most likely his mother is Gitle (d. 1758), the 2nd spouse of his father — considering several facts: (a) he died young — (b’) one of his daughters is named Gitle — (c) specificly mentioned in ET is his wetnurse ‘die alte’ Zippora b’ Hersh Philipps mi Neustadt who died 7.11.1814 at the age of 105 years!]
11.2.1783 [9 shevat 543] he enters the brotherhood kos dg”ch (beaker 4)

[according to Ele Toldot his wife Channe is the same as Channe the daughter of his brother Itsek whose wife Fradle was born in 1749. This makes the marriage year of Leizer and Channa, given by ET as 1768, impossible. They can’t have married earlier than 1780, which is incompatible with some of their children’s dates — in particular Gitle born 1n 1777 [!] while Brendle and Chavve seem not to be their children [cf under here] — So what’s wrong? Is Channa a the daughter of another Itsek Speyer? For instance a son of Michel b’ Itsek Speyer z Leuchter (d. 1738), whose possible children are not mentioned in ET— cf. Furthermore it’s very odd, that next to the impossible marriage between Leizer and his brother Itzek’s daughter Channa three children of their daughters would be married to sons of the same Itsek, thus to brothers of Channa. This can not be correct]
House; “silberne Krone’
children:
# Jozzel/ Josef b’ Leizer Speyer z silb. Krone (d. 3.5.1846), no further info
# Serche/ Sara b’ Leizer Speyer (d. 30.9.1822, age 37), married >>
# Gitle/ Julie b’ Leizer Speyer (b’ 1777; d. 21.4.1806 in Offenbach), married >>
# Agathe b’ Leizer Speyer (d. 17.4.1846), married twice >>

NB — erroneously mentioned as daughters of Leizer:
# Brendle (d. 25.9.1769 as a child; sk 529=206)
# Chavve (d. 15.2.1776; sk 536=14), unmarried
[with the same sk (= burial book) numbers and slightly differing dates they are also mentioned as daughters of ‘der alte’ Hersh b’ Michel b’ Moshe Speyer (d. 23.1.1796), which is much more likely]
Obviously there is confusion in Ele Toldot between several branches of the Speyer family, resulting in errors and uncertainties. Particularly concerning the children of Leizer and his brother Itsek — not yet solved in my genealogy [JG]
