his parents died before his marriage date 1760 -- he is a younger brother of Vrouwtje Levi Goudsmit — who is the mother of his wife!
1760 Amsterdam, living at Groenmarkt -- he is assisted at his marriage by his cousin (or nephew) Salomon Isac Goudsmit
26.5.1800 Eindhoven: ‘2 Sivan 5560 Shmoel Segal (Goudsmit) from Amsterdam donates a ‘Parochet’ (= the Torah ark curtain) for the first synagogue — later his sons donate several ‘Machzoriem’ (= prayer books)’ — [cf J. Bader quoting ‘Meijer Staal, ‘De Israelitische gemeente te Eindhoven — 1916”, ®12 (deel 9, p.8)] [NB: just before his donation his daughter Sara was in 1799 married in Eindhoven to Mozes b’ Philip (de Jongh)]
