In several notarial acts she is mentioned as “Johanna Samson” as well as “Johanna Sijmons”
[NB, uncertain assumptions:] > (1) she may be a sister of Sara Samson (b.1759 Metz, France) who was living in Oisterwijk, married to Aron van den Meijdenberg — or (2) she may be the sister of the gabbay Marcus Simon (Mordechai bar Simcha) in Oisterwijk, where she may have met her husband; another fact sustaining this assumption is that the first time that Jonas is registered in the taxlists of Veghel (1771), he is wrongly stated as “Jonas Moses Simons”, in later years as “Jonas Samuel, Jew”]
