Notes for Jacob b’ Samuel Campion Kampinjon (Kampion)
also stated as ‘Koppel Kampion’
Rotterdam, 16.12.1811 NaamsAanneming (Name Assumption by) Jacob Samuel, akte 101v: (new surname:) Campion — living Peperstraat E — children: Samuel (27y), Levi (15y), Nathan (10y), Roosje (28y, married), Antje (11y)
in his death act stated as: ‘Jacob Kampinjon, old 82 years, living in Martenshoek, house A. 90, born in Sneek, widower of Roosje Jacob Heijerman, deceased in Zuidbroek, his parents unknown’ [birthplace is apparently wrong]
Seemingly he had moved ca 1820 to the province of Groningen, with his whole family except oldest daughter Roosje.

NB: incorrect spelling of his surname: ‘Kampinjon’ — which is continued in the acts of his son Samuel and his offspring — while the surname of Jacob’s other children and their offspring is mainly spelled ‘Kampion’, though still regularly varied with ‘Campion’

NB: his birthplace in Volkstelling Zuidbroek 1839: ‘Krimpen’
